# Unshield assets

## Unshield assets

Unshielding exits value from the shielded pool back to a public address.

### Steps

1. Open the unshield flow.
2. Select the shielded balance to spend.
3. Enter the public destination address.
4. Confirm the amount.
5. Generate the proof and submit the transaction.
6. Wait for Ethereum confirmation.

### Verification

```
Action: spend shielded UTXO
Output: public transfer
Verification: unshield verifier contract
Settlement: Ethereum Mainnet
```

### Notes

* Double-check the destination address.
* Keep enough ETH for gas.
* Final balances become public after withdrawal.
